Getting Down

I've started the 17 day diet (again).  Last year did well, got down a few pounds, then moving kind of through things for a loop and I went back to where I had begun.  I've lost ten pounds so far in about a month's time.  I will continue on until I reach my goal this year.  I haven't started to detrash yet, but I do need to get on that project also.  We need to find doctor's, ect. in our new location.  That is one reason why moving is such a pain.  I will travel back to SC to go to the dentist as he has one more cracked tooth to crown and I should be good to go.  Also, going back twice a year isn't such a bad thing.  I can visit and arrange my appointment so that I can also join the girls on Knit Night.

Almost finished my mohair sweater, but ran out of yarn.  Waiting to hear from someone that is selling two skeins so that I can complete it.  There is so much fuzz and color that dye lots won't matter.  I did start on a new cowl.  Another goal is to use up a lot of my yarn stash and my fabric stash.

I may cover the couch with a beige linen type upholstery fabric and then use the pieces of fabric that I had purchased for bags to use on the back cushions.  Even if we get a new couch, this one can be used in John's den.  I guess eventually we will need to buy another bed as a guest bed-probably a double bed so that it would be big for one person and adequate for two and not take up the entire room.  Or, we can get a sleep sofa, or use the airbed.  I guess we could always get a quality queen size airbed, so it wouldn't take up any space.  I'm not sure who would come to visit us anyways.  At least until we actually purchase a home.

Living in Macon

We are here.  It is OK. The area is like a town full of the usual big box stores-Old Navy, Kohl's, Books a Million, Barnes and Noble, Michael's, Hobby Lobby, Hancock Fabrics (no Joann's), a small mall with Sears, Penny's, Belks (like an old Lazarus/May Co.), Home Depot, and of course Lowe's, Dick's Sporting Goods, Bath and Beyond, ect, Walmart. And then all the matching restaurants-Applebee's, Chili's, IHop, and all of that kind. Now that we have packed and moved, I see that I have a lot of work ahead of me getting rid of even more stuff. I took two more boxes to Goodwill and this week I will start on listing on my Ebay turolister so that it will be ready to go when I am. I suppose it is silly to list this weekend since the next weekend is Christmas. I should have done all of this ages ago. We had 256 pieces that were moved-furniture, boxes, and things not in boxes. I am going to whittle that down considerably. I have found that we don't need fancy speakers, I have fixed the laptops, so the desktop can go, toys, gadgets, fishing tackle, old country knick-knacks, craft stuff that I will never use, along with John's stuff that he will not use either. I am going to make some jewelry rolls to store all of that. Maybe velvet backing with the clear plastic sheeting to see the items along with zippers for each section and small velcro strips to hold necklaces and bracelets in place. The earrings can go into small square pouch sections or maybe mesh flaps where the backs and posts can go through. I'll have to work on that. I need to use up the soaps and make some knitted pouches for those. If I do it right, I can translate it into a pattern for sale. Maybe a jewelry purse similar to the one we bought at the craft show-Deb and I from Beverly Hills. That is an idea. Instead of rolling, it can fold like into thirds and zip closed. Well, maybe this is what I need, is a deversion since work is now not the friendly store like I was at.
